Frequently Asked Questions

Counseling is an investment in yourself, and the life you really want. You’re here because you’re ready to make that change. Below are a number of frequently asked questions, but if your question isn’t listed here just head on over to the Contact page.

Time Investment

Just like your life, your therapy journey is unique. You can choose brief, solution-focused work (3-5 sessions to address a specific current stressor) or deeper, longer-term work to unearth and rework old patterns and habits, or something in between. We’ll discuss your goals, and how I can best support you, from the beginning.

Session Frequency

It’s often helpful to start with weekly sessions, but we can meet weekly, bi-weekly, or even monthly if that’s what works best for your schedule, needs, and/or budget.

Financial Investment

Sessions are $175 for a 50-minute session. Intake sessions are a 60-90 minute session and are $200.

Payment options include self-pay, in-network insurance billing, and seeking out-of-network insurance reimbursement. Please ask if you need assistance understanding your financial options.

In-Network Insurances

I am in-network with the following insurances:

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield of Oklahoma
  • HealthChoice Oklahoma
  • United Healthcare/Optum

While I bill insurance as a courtesy, you are ultimately responsible for payment. Please contact your insurance company directly to verify your co-pay, deductible, and any session limits.

Using Out-of-Network Benefits

If I am not in your network, you may be able to use out-of-network benefits. I can provide a superbill, a detailed receipt for your sessions, which you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement.

How to Use Your Superbill:

  1. Verify Your Benefits: Contact your insurance company before your first session to confirm your out-of-network mental health coverage, reimbursement percentage, deductible, and session limits. You can also ask for details about how to submit superbills for reimbursement.
  2. Submit Your Superbill: After paying for your session, submit the superbill to your insurance company according to their instructions.
  3. Follow Up: Track your claim’s status by contacting your insurance company as needed until you receive payment.

Important Considerations:

  • Reimbursement: Reimbursement amounts vary. Your insurance may not cover the full session cost.
  • Deductibles: You must meet your deductible before insurance reimbursement begins.
  • Documentation: Your insurer may request additional documentation, which I can provide.
  • Record Keeping: Keep copies of your superbills and any insurance communications.

Telehealth Policy

I offer telehealth sessions via a HIPAA-compliant version of Google Meet. You must be physically located within the state of Oklahoma during your appointment. Before our session, please test your microphone, camera, and internet connection to ensure they are working correctly and ensure you have access to confidential, comfortable space during your session time.

Cancellation and No Show Policy

Scheduling an appointment represents a mutual commitment to that time. If you are unable to attend your scheduled appointment, please provide as much advance notice as possible. Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice will incur a $100 late cancellation fee. Missed appointments (no-shows) will be charged the full session fee of $175.
